WHEN WILL THIS STOP?

Someone has lost a beloved pet. No, it didn't run away or get lost....
it was brutally beaten and tortured, then run over with a car.
On October 10, 1999, a beautiful female cat came willingly to the four boys
who stopped on the side of the road and called to her. Her trust was
rewarded by unthinkable terror and cruelty - being used as a tug-of-war toy
until the boys heard something "pop", having her legs broken, being jumped
up and down on like a trampoline. Even when her pitiful battered body was
mercifully dead, her suffering was not at an end. The boys then placed her
ravaged body under the wheel of their car, braking over her, as they drove
off to find other amusement. For the full story,

One of the boys made a fatal error in bragging about what he had done to
a very brave 16 year old girl. When she reported what he had done, her
life changed drastically. Her friends and peers at school taunted her,
teased her, are angry with her and making her life miserable. But, SHE KNOWS
what she did is right.
7/03/05 - It is now six years since the brutal attack on this beloved pet. Lennie's site is still up and she is as active as ever in supporting animal rights. Please visit her and leave a message in her guestbook.

MY THOUGHTS
It was rumored that one of these boys had been performing acts of cruelty to
animals for quite sometime. Why hadn't he been reported before this???
Are our children really so cold and callous that they think protecting a
friend should come before their own moral values? How did our children come
to this point???? These boys are only 17 and 18 years old!!! How long before
they would have moved to bigger prey???
WOULD YOU HAVE BEEN THE NEXT VICTIM??
Should these boys be punished? Their friends don't think so.
Do you want to
live in a country where children grow up so cold and uncaring? I don't want
to.
We have to stop looking the other way.
We must teach our children to stand
up for what they believe and not be afraid.
