MY ANGELS - GABRIELLE & DOMINIC

I wanted grandchildren for many years before they were actually born. I got my wish with Gabrielle on 01/23/99 and with Dominic on 03/23/02. I am so fortunate because they live just a few minutes from my house.
June 5, 2006--We are awaiting the birth of my son and daughter-in-laws first baby. It should be a matter of a day or two now. I can hardly wait to meet little Lexi.
There are times when I am so overwhelmed with love for my grandchildren that it goes beyond words. As I am surfing other grandparents sites, I find I am not alone. OH! what a wonderful and beautiful feeling this is. As I was awaiting their arrivals, "seasoned" grandma's and grandpa's told me how great and fantastic being a grandparent is. But, the words did not do justice with what I am actually feeling. Gabrielle has named me "Nana", the most beautiful sound in the whole world.

Grandparents
Few can bring the warmth
We can find in their embrace,
And little more is needed to bring love.
Than the smile on their face.
They've a supply of precious stories,
Yet they've time to wipe a tear,
Or give us reasons to make us laugh,
They grow more precious through the years.
I believe that God sent us Grandparents
As our legacy from above,
To share the moments of our life,
As extra measures of His love.

BONDING

I have earned the right to spoil my grandchildren, I'm sure they will expect it as they get older.

As with my children (my son-in-law included), I always say hi and goodby with a hug and kiss.

I already take them little trinkets whenever I stop by to see them. I also have a basket filled with goodies in my house especially for them. This is the first place we go when they come over.

When they get older, I plan on starting a collection for them with whatever interests them. I started a music box collection with my daughter when she was 7 years old and she still expects me to pick up any unusual music box I find where ever I go. I plan to do the same with Gabrielle and Dominic.

I have started memory books for Gabrielle and Dominic, their 16th birthday gift from me. This is something any grandchild would love to receive.

No matter how young or old they are, always say "I LOVE YOU". These three words are very powerful words and can create a beautiful bond between you and your grandchild.
